3 Things From The Weekend

  Feb 3, 2020  |  #Weekend recap

I haven’t done a weekend recap in a while, and I’m not really sure why. Things haven’t been too exciting over here, aside from finally hitting publish on my Ebook.

I made this ebook based on feedback from my email list, but all the questions I get about hunger. Hunger can be so confusing! So, this 40+ page ebook is meant to make it a lot simpler and more enjoyable, and put you back in touch with your body and intuition.

It’s a jam-packed resource with activities, fill in pages and more that I hope will be helpful to many!

You can check it out here.

1. Nasal Rinse

Actually, it seems like over the past few months, at least one of us has always been sick. We just keep passing it back and forth.

Camryn has had on and off fevers and runny noses, luckily it’s been a while since she’s had a cough. I know they just pass the germs back and forth at daycare. Eck.

I’ve had this reoccurring sinus thing for a few months. I finally went back to the doctor and she recommended a nasal rinse. If that doesn’t work, she can give me a course of antibiotics but we figured we should try this option first.

I’ve done the rinse the last 3-4 days. It’s kind of weird. This video shows you how to do it. I guess it’s similar to a neti-pot. I don’t know – whatever it takes. I’m just hoping it works.

2. Smithsonian Museum of Natural History

We live about an hour outside of DC. Surprisingly, we haven’t made it into DC all that much. I mean, I guess it’s the winter and not the time to go. But, we had a mild Saturday and thought it would be fun to take Camryn to the Museum of Natural History.

First of all, if you’ve never been, it’s free! Many of the museums in DC are, which I think is super cool.

We were there for about 1.5-2 hours. Camryn most enjoyed the stuffed animals/mammals section.

We also spent alot of time in the ocean section, butterflies, and they actually have a cool area about outbreaks, which is timely considering the Coronavirus right now.

We grabbed lunch after and started with a crab dip. We’ve found that one of the best ways to keep Camryn entertained is to order food right away, which usually means ordering an appetizer.

3. Planning our Trip to New Mexico

We’re traveling to New Mexico soon, and accommodations are all booked, but now I’m trying to make a rough outline of our itinerary and things to do. We will mostly be in Santa Fe and Albuquerque, but will be making a day trip to Taos and also hope to see White Sands National Park.

Have you ever been to New Mexico? Let me know if you have any travel tips!

In other news, we had a mild day yesterday and today it’s supposed to be in the 60’s so hoping I can get outside for a short run.

  1. So much to see in D.C.
Arlington National, th Lincoln Memorial and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier would be strong recommendations…

  2. Thumbs up on the nasal rinse. I went through a phase in my early 30’s where I got frequent sinus infections and some really nasty bouts with bronchitis and pneumonia. Yes it’s not the most fun thing to use but it sure helped put that phase of my life behind me.
