Clyde Common

Clyde Common is right in downtown Portland. I was told its very “Portlandy” and trendy. The hubs and I dined here during his visit in September. We got in right at the tail end of happy hour and stayed through dinner. We planned it perfectly because we got some great happy hour-priced dishes and cocktails – I recommend the popcorn with honey and butter, but be careful, it’s super addicting. We also tried the pork lumpia and mussels but the popcorn stands out the most.

The food style is tapas/smaller dishes. We had ordered a bunch of things for happy hour so we didn’t get a lot for dinner. I got the scallops dish and my husband ordered the rabbit. Both were just ok, which was slightly disappointing, but nonetheless, the drinks were good and the atmosphere was enjoyable. I wouldn’t rank this in my list of top places to go for dinner, but it’s a great open-aired atmosphere with fabulous inventive cocktails and a great happy hour. Try the Pacific Standard cocktail – it’s amazing.
