Having trouble finding the perfect Father’s Day gift for the active male in your life? This post outlines some of my favorite products for active men!
This post is sponsored by Primo® Water. I only recommend products I 100% use and love myself. Thank you for supporting the brands that make Bucket List Tummy possible.
I have so much trouble with gifts for men. It always seems like they have everything and they’re never great about sharing ideas for what to get them. At least the men in my life aren’t!
So, in recent years, I’ve decided to just be practical. Last year, I gave Ed more of an “experience” type gift that included a baseball game and dinner. I seem to do the same for my dad, too. They both seem to enjoy experiences (as do I), so it’s a good use of money and time because it won’t get “lost.”
The other option that seems to work well is a practical gift that they’ll use regularly. Additionally, these gifts are great because they can benefit everyone in the family! Like a Primo water system, for example.
Ed is very active. He runs 4-5 times/week and on top of that, he runs with his accounts for work, too. Like me, he doesn’t sit still for long. He also drinks A TON of water. We are constantly filling up our water pitcher gallon in the fridge (more than 1-2x/day) due to all the water we go through. I thought there HAS to be a more efficient way (and less labor-intensive) to provide good drinking water for a household.
And there is!
Plus, as we all know, the summers are hot and we lose more water (and electrolytes!) through sweat. This post details all about hydration needs during the summer months when training or exercising outside. When Ed is training during the summer, having accessible, quality water is even more important. So, I knew this would be the perfect gift!
How Can Primo Water Systems Benefit The Whole Family?
Water Has Gone Through a Purification Process
Ever since having Camryn, I’ve become more hypervigilant about so many of our household products, including WATER. This is one of the reasons we’ve switched from tap water to Primo water. I love not having to worry or guess if it has gone through a purification process or not.
Tap water can sometimes have contaminants and other things in it, which I don’t want to be serving my family. I feel better knowing that Primo water goes through a multi-step purification process that includes reverse osmosis.
My Favorite Features
Firstly, the Smart Touch Deluxe Bottom Loading Water Dispenser is so easy to set up! You just bottom load the 3 or 5 gallon water bottle (which is great so you don’t have to lift it!), put the tube in, and voila.
Secondly, we’re always trying to be conscious of more sustainable practices in our house. Reusable grocery bags are something we’ve been doing for a while. Have you ever thought about what happens to the plastic water bottles when you’re done with them?
They build up in landfills, or worse, the oceans. With Primo Water, each 5-gallon bottle prevents that build-up, saving up to 1,100 single-use bottles from the landfill. And if you’re worried about energy use, Primo’s Energy Star rating keeps electricity usage to a minimum.
It’s nice to have cold water instantly. Some dispensers even provide ice-cold water. Just choose what works best for your family!
We use our Primo in-home dispenser for our water, Camryn’s water, water for coffee and tea, and even Tater’s water. The in-home dispensers allow for hot and cold water, so we no longer have to wait for water to heat up on the stove for tea.
And for hot water, there’s a safety feature where you push both buttons at the same time so you don’t have to worry about kids burning themselves.
And one of my favorite features is the child lockout function that prevents any accidental dispensing, too. Camryn spills Tater’s water bowl several times a day, so at least I have piece of mind knowing this water won’t be spilled. Making tea and coffee is so much easier now, and much tastier.
What Do You Do When You’re Out Of Water?
They are easy to refill! Another thing I really love about the Primo dispenser is that you can exchange your empty 5-gallon bottle for a new one when you’re through with it.
To exchange, all you have to do is visit a local retailer to exchange your water bottle for a pre-filled water bottle (use this store locator to see the closest store to you). The store can then recycle your empty bottle.
If you’d prefer to refill your own water rather than exchange it, you can do that too! You can also refill your water bottles at designated Primo self-service water stations (like Walmart, Lowe’s, Home Depot and grocery stores!). The self-service refill is very accessible and affordable because we should all have access to water that has been purified.
All you do is bring your empty water bottle to one of 25,000 retail locations across the US and Canada.
When you purchase your Primo water dispenser, it comes with a welcome mailer and coupons for a free 3 or 5 gallon bottle, plus a free refill as well so you won’t have to worry about refills initially. The welcome mailer is super helpful in explaining how easy it is to set up and understand your Primo dispenser.
Exchange and Refill Water are both purified through a water treatment process that includes filtration, reverse osmosis and sterilization. Exchange water also includes added filtration, mineral addition and ozonation (for safety and freshness).
We prefer to do this because I feel better not using any more bottles than necessary and it is more cost effective for our family.

You tell me,
What do you enjoy giving to the men in your life?
Practical or experiential gifts?
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of PRIMO.
Why is it so hard to buy gifts for men? Ha! I love this practical idea for father’s day!
They are so hard to shop for!
Our breakroom has a big water dispenser and I never knew how many single use plastic bottles it saved. I love that!! Plus hot water on demand is a dream come true for tea and coffee drinkers haha
It’s amazing when you think about how much better it is for the environment.
We have a Primo Water system too, and we love it!! It’s such a great gift he can use daily!
Exactly! And a great use for the whole family.
This is a really great post with some good ideas. I am terrible at gift giving and I’ve got just two days to figure it out
Sounds like a great way to have less plastic water bottles in the world!!!
It definitely is! I’m all about better for the environment choices 🙂
I just recently got a Primo water dispenser too and love it! Love that it allows you to get filtered water without using up a bunch of bottles.
