Hi guys, I can’t believe it’s Friday already! This was a pretty good week, and very productive one. On the pregnancy front, I had my glucose test (and passed it), celebrated with donuts and found out I’m not anemic (I didn’t suspect I was, but they test for that too). I chose the fruit punch flavor. It was not delicious, by any means, but it actually wasn’t as bad as I thought/have heard. But I eat/drink sweet things often, so maybe that’s why.
We also met with a pediatrician who I reallllly like, which is great. I thought that process would be a lot more time consuming. We are registered for birth classes, have started the process of researching breast pumps and contacting insurance, have our babymoon planned for later this month, and things are moving right along!
Cute Baby Clothes
I went shopping last weekend and couldn’t help but buy some cute little outfits. I KNOW the newborn stage goes quickly and she will grow out of things at a rapid pace, so I got some for 0-3 months, and 3-6 months. Baby clothes are so darn cute – I don’t know how people don’t just spend all of their money on them.
Hello Fresh
This is not sponsored. I’ve talked about my love for Hello Fresh before. I haven’t tried many meal services, but I feel like I’m pretty smitten with Hello Fresh. Their quality and flavor of the meals impresses me every time. I haven’t had a bad meal yet. I know we will continue to do meal services/delivery once baby is here and I am completely okay with it. These directions are easy, and most meals come together in under 30 minutes. And, Ed can make them 🙂
This week, I tried the barbecue chicken with green beans and the cheesiest, creamiest mac ‘n cheese (hint: add cream cheese, butter and shredded cheese). We also made the balsamic burgers. Both were delicious. I save the recipe cards for inspiration later. You can get $40 off your order using this code.
Donut Sandwich
As I mentioned earlier, we have a little donut tradition after our prenatal appointments. Well, this time we went a little crazy – we got a half dozen donuts and a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich on a donut. I was so curious I just had to try it. It was delicious! I brought whatever donuts we didn’t finish to the office to share.
Massage
Had a pre-natal massage this week that I needed more than I realized! I made another appointment for next month – things for self care that make me feel good. Worth the investment!
The Grapefruit and Granola Podcast
My friend, Sam, from G&G Nutrition just started a podcast called the Grapefruit and Granola podcast. You can listen to my thoughts on juicing and “clean eating” here (you can probably guess what I had to say).
Here were some of my favorite reads this week:

Anywhere in particular you’d want to run (or travel to)? I’d say Switzerland, Greece, or Alaska! It would also be cool to run along the Pacific coast.
What were your highs from the week?
Yeppp, baby clothes really are so stinking cute. All of my friends have kids and they all say they have plenty of hand me downs they’re saving for my kids – but I secretly want to tell them not to so I can buy all the things
Such cute clothes! Also, everyone and their mother always tells you when you’re pregnant not to get a lot of newborn clothes or diapers because they will barely be in that size. Well, sometimes you are! Aubrey wore newborn clothes and diapers for 2.5 months! So, dont feel bad if you get some more of that size!
Luckily she didnt mind being an outfit repeater hahaha!
That’s good to hear! 🙂
My cousin just had her second child this week and it was so exciting. I can’t wait for you to experience the same joy when your baby is born 🙂 . Those donuts look absolutely incredible! Believe it or not, I’ve never actually had a good, real donut (I don’t really count the few Dunkin Donuts I had as a kid). I really want to try a quality, fresh donut though. There’s an amish market by me that apparently has amazing huge ones, so my friends and I are planning to go there and get some. I’d love to run anywhere with a good view! When I went on vacation in Maine like 3-4ish summers ago, the runs along the harbor were breathtaking and the air felt so refreshing. Hope you have a great weekend!
xxMeah
Girl, you need to get yourself a good craft donut! Dunkin does NOT count. Maine is totally on my bucket list – bet there’s a bunch of views in Acadia National Park 🙂
Good morning Sarah! I have been working early mornings at work this week so I’m behind in my blog reading. I’m happy to hear your appointment went well and you’re enjoying being pregnant. The most exciting thing I did this week was move into my van (I’m sitting in here now!) Even though it’s snowing crazily right now, I wouldn’t change it for anything 🙂 This weekend I am going to a new restaurant, either a taco shack or a fancier brunch place for lunch. The snow won’t stop me!
I think you living in a van is so cool, I Look forward to following along! Hope you enjoy the taco shop/fancier brunch 🙂
Oh man, I loooooove donuts. Also, your baby clothes and baby plans are killing me. I’m feeling extra clucky lately, and those adorable little shirts are not helping, haha!
Also, LOVE the idea of a babymoon. Definitely need to put that idea in my back pocket.
We are looking forward to some low key time!
That donut sweater is about the cutest ever!!!!! Baby clothes are so much fun. I need to go shopping for my cousins baby shower this weekend and I am excited to check out all the bitty baby things.
Dude seriously MELT YOUR HEART with those baby clothes, LOVE THE DONUT SHIRT!
Isn’t it SO PRECIOUS? Eeek
Those meals do look good! I got a couple free Plated boxes from a friend and have been enjoying those.
Hope you have a great weekend.
I’m enjoying the time saving nature of them. Have a great weekend Julie!
Oh I’m so glad you were able to find a pediatrician that you really like. That would be very important I think, and what a stress reliever. Yay for getting so many other things done on the pregnancy-prep list. Shopping spree included. Yes – baby clothes could melt even the hardest of hearts. Seeing all my niece’s Christmas themed outfits this holiday was just too much to handle.
Can I work at your office so I can get those donuts brought to me? Holy lucky colleagues.
I bet the Christmas themed clothes were too much. You must love being an auntie!
Cream cheese is mac and cheese sounds like a perfect addition! Mac and cheese from scratch is something I want to make this year and I’ll have to remember to add some in. I’m not even pregnant but whenever I walk by the baby aisle at Target I see the cutest things! Lord help my wallet when I am pregnant lol! The donut sweatshirt is so stinking cute Sarah!
Yes, we were so surprised at how delicious and creamy it was!
I love Hello Fresh! My roommate does it weekly, so she’s given me some of her free boxes they give her for being a loyal customer. I think it would be really cool to run along the Pacific coast, too! I want to travel to Portland/Seattle area, Montana, and the Southwest. I just love the terrain out west!
Portland is one of my favorite places, I hope to get back out there!
Your meals from Hello Fresh look really good! I still haven’t tried it but really want to at some point. Thanks so much for sharing my post! Have a great weekend!
We really love it!
