I got my ish together for Friday Favorites two weeks in a row, I’m quite proud. I hope you’ll join in and share some of your weekly favorites below.
We had some friends over last weekend for homemade pizza night. We do this every so often so you guys may even recognize some of these pizza favorites. We did our favorite chipotle potato pizza, a lasagna inspired pizza and a thai chicken pizza. Delicious! And a cheeseboard for an app 🙂
Camryn turned 11 months this week! I think this picture nicely summarizes my daughter – peanut butter, blueberries and sweet potatoes everywhere (3 of my favorites).
I had no idea Cape Gooseberries were different from actual gooseberries but they are (Thanks to reader Dee, who pointed that out in Wednesday’s post). They are tart and juicy, and kind of look like they should taste like a grape tomato, but they have been fun to just snack on. Now that they are a little riper, they actually taste kind of like juicy grapes with a slight hint of tartness. They seem to be very high in Vitamin C and antioxidants too.

I’ve talked about food huggers before but they are just so darn helpful. I use them on half-eaten bananas, avocados, oranges, apples, everything. They have different sizes and colors, which is fun. Camryn loves just playing with them too, which helps keep her occupied while I’m getting her meals ready.
Next weekend is the NC Fitness Expo, if you’re local in Charlotte! I’ve gone the last few years. It’s a fun FREE health and wellness event, and a great opportunity to meet some of the local businesses and professionals in the area. There will be tons of free giveaways, fun workout classes (there’s a yoga stage, a kids zone and a cardio dance zone), cooking demonstrations and more. It’ll be a grea time if you’re local to Charlotte.
Find movement that brings you joy, whether thats walking, yoga, weight training, running, pilates, swimming, playing with your kids, gardening, or even not moving. There doesn’t have to be a set plan. If we’re only equivalenting movement to calories, we’re not truly enjoying the act of the movement itself.
Navigating Postpartum Recovery – So so true to think about all of the rest that is necessary. Robyn also explains the change in hormones which makes so much sense.
How I ditched by phone and unbroke my brain – This is something I’m really trying to work on. I like his tips of putting something on your phone so when you pick it up you realize, what’s the reason for doing so? It has come to be just a mindless habit for me, to pick it up when I’m waiting in line, or don’t know what else to do with idol time. And I’d really love to learn to embrace more quietness.
I plan on testing a new recipe out this weekend that’s a fun spin on these almond flour muffins. I’ll report back!
