Fun Finds and Friday Favorites #6

  Jul 29, 2016  |  #Favorites

Hi, friends!

It’s been a great week with clients and unpacking, and I leave for vacation next week! The only thing that has been kinda blah is this hot summer weather makes for tough running conditions. But hey, life could be worse.

Linking up with Kate today for Top 3!

Top 3 Eats:

Homemade milkshake using Talenti gelato and some chocolate Moose Tracks ice cream. Basically, a mint chocolate chunk combination.

Salted Cinnamon Peanut Butter. I’m obsessed. I put it on errrrythin.

Turkey burger night! I mixed ground turkey with some oats, 1 egg, onions, garlic powder, pepper, salt, cumin and bbq seasoning and served with some sweet potatoes.

And an extra for good measure:

BBQ Oysters and an ice cream flight from Restaurant Week at Rock Salt.

Favorite reads:

My absolute favorite read for the week was this one. It was so powerful, and hopefully can slowly change the mentality for wanting to be “thin” and “skinny.” Let’s be STRONG.

I shared Jennifer Aniston’s For the Record post a couple weeks ago. Here’s a Dietitian’s take

26 Life Lessons from my First Marathon via Wild Coast Tails <– I am new to Danielle’s blog and how timely considering we leave for Vancouver next week! Her photos are beautiful and she just ran her first marathon. Loved this post about things I can expect and prepare for come November.

Found this Interesting: 1 Hour of Activity per 8 Hours of Sitting. I am a huge fan of the idea of cumulative exercise. If you can only walk 15 minutes in the morning, GREAT! Maybe you can add 15 minutes on your lunch break and another 15 minutes after dinner.

This is the dog I want.

About a month ago, I started following all accounts revolving around Vancouver – food, active, photography, lifestyle, etc. I get so excited seeing pictures.

Other Things I’m Loving

This tank I got at TJMaxx. Positive mind, vibes and life. And iced coffee, obv. Amen.

Headspace App  <– I’m hoping this can help me learn to meditate.

My brother on Pandora! I’ve mentioned it a few times but he’s in a band in Nashville and they are REALLY good. I’m sure they would appreciate any support if you were interested in listening to them on Itunes or Spotify.

Top Purchases This Week:

Have you guys ever shopped on Zulilly (affiliate link) ? You can find some great deals. I am obsessed with these comfy, casual Tom’s shoes I recently got!

This spiralizer! It was only $10 on Amazon. I am finally joining the zoodles cult without spending an arm and a leg. I’m excited!

  1. Ooooh, your mint chocolate milkshake sounds INCREDIBLE!

I’ve never bought anything from Zulily but I diddd get their emails before i had a massive unsubscribing binge and got read of every kind of sales inbox because I realised the 100-200 real emails I get a day were enough to deal with on their own, haha

  2. I;’ve bought Toms from Zullily too- they also sell Mizunos for basically half off too which is my running shoes of choice. Can’t wait to hear about your vacation- have a great time!

  3. MMMM TO YOUR EATS!! They sound incredible. And I haven’t used my spiralizer in like, two weeks and I already miss it. Definitely need to get back to my zoodles and coodles! [carrot noodles 😉 ]

  4. I have thought about getting a spiralizer, but then realized that I would probably never use it. I like the concept, but I know myself. The best thing I ate this week was a double cheese and salsa quesadilla

  5. Although I may seem bias, Canada is such a beautiful country, Vancouver is my vacation destination for next summer! I am dying to see the rockies, but from Montreal, it’s a long way out!
I would love to taste oysters soon, those looked really good!
I have a very similar spiralizer and love it!!

  6. You got a spiralizer? YES!!! 🙂 I really have been thinking about one especially when I get on Instagram and see the beautiful zoodle or spoodle (sweet potato) creations people make.

And a homemade milkshake sounds really really good right now. Talenti Gelato is some of the best.

  7. That dog is adorable! I can’t wait to have my own place so I can get a dog.
I really need to not do any more online shopping. It is crazy how much awesome stuff you can find and how much time you can waste scrolling through it all.

  8. So excited you are going to Vancouver (eh Canada!). Of course it is NO where near me, so I have to be a bit sad about that one, but regardless – it is so beautiful. Gah. The TREES. Are SO BIG. Sometimes the sites of everything seem too perfect to be true. How long are you gone for and what is actually taking you there? Just vacation? A run? Family?
    Also. Homemade Milkshakes. Yes.

    1. I Know, I so wish it were closer to you, Cora! We are going to celebrate our wedding anniversary and my birthday. We are also going to eat because every single restaurant I’ve looked up sounds amazing. And I just know the running will be top notch!

  9. I need to get a spiralizer!! That milkshake sounds so good, same with that peanut butter. Aren’t poodles the cutest?! I have one and I love her so much. They give tons of love and comfort too. Have a great Monday Sarah!
