As a huge proponent of family meals, I’m a big fan of those that can be ready in 15-20 minutes, especially when you have toddler(s) or little ones home, starving. We rely on these toddler family meals throughout the year for sanity!
I love to cook, but there’s something about having little ones that takes away that joy. It has transitioned into necessary 30 minute recipes (or less when possible)! And since I’m a Registered Dietitian and conscious of serving healthy options, I love that these pineapple teriyaki salmon patties are a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids – many people aren’t eating enough seafood.
Keeping canned or pouched salmon on hand as a pantry staple is key to eating more of it. Not to mention, it’s a budget-friendly way to get those DHA and EPA Omega 3 fatty acids.

Other favorites are these zucchini salmon fritters and sweetpotato salmon cakes too – all ready in under 20 minutes!
Ingredients Come Together for a 15 Minute Meal
Here’s what you need
- canned salmon or salmon pouches
- breadcrumbs
- canned or fresh pineapple
- egg
- lemon
- Sauces – For the ultimate flavor, we’re using a tiny bit of teriyaki sauce, sesame oil and soy sauce for an asian-inspired flavor
- Spices and herbs – We’re using brown sugar, garlic, ginger and basil!

How To Make Pineapple Teriyaki Salmon Patties
It’s incredibly easy – Simply mix all of your ingredients into a bowl, whisking the egg in last.
If you’re using canned pineapple, this step will take seconds. If you’re using fresh pineapple, you’ll need to dice it into small dice shapes, equal in size.
Flavor Tip
Once the ingredients are mixed, I like to put them in the fridge for a good 15-20 minutes to firm up, but if you’re short on time, you can skip this part! I just find that it makes them stick together a little easier.

Then, you’ll form your into patty shapes and place them over medium-high heat and cook for about 5 minutes per side.
I generally just flip them once!

I promise you, this pineapple teriyaki salmon recipe is SOOO GOOD.
The sweetness and tart flavor from the pineapple juice and fruit pairs so nicely with a savory salmon flavor. Plus, it’s a quick family recipe that’s high in protein and gives you an easy serving of seafood.
If you want to pair these pineapple salmon patties with a salad, I recommend this broccoli kale salmon salad (just omit the salmon and add the patties on top)!

Support Bucket List TummyI was very excited to make these salmon patties today for lunch. I’ve made salmon patties many times in the past and wanted to use up some fresh pineapple. The only change in the recipe was that I used leftover grilled salmon vs from a packet.
I was disappointed that the inside tasted mushy vs firm.
If I make this again, I would skip the bread crumbs.
Easy and delicious!
This recipe sounds so amazing! I love the combo of the salty and sweet flavors!
These look amazing!!! Totally trying this. I hope I can make family meals happen with the twins too. I feel like it’s important too.
Anything SALMON has me intriguedddddd and captures my attention, so I AM here… Pinning this recipe for future reference!
Love the idea of this salmon and really love these patties. Such an easy and nutritious meal.
Both of my kids like salmon cakes. This looks like a really easy and healthy weeknight dinner
It definitely is!
You’re right, something about the sound of this flavor combination sounds amazing. I bought some salmon last week when a big craving hit and I realized I hadn’t eaten it in a very long time. If I don’t have access to these pouches, how much salmon would you say to use in this recipe?
I think this recipe used about 4-5 ounces. We love the flavor combination and hope you do too!
