One of my new revelations with my air fryer is using my favorite freezer staple, frozen vegetables.

If you, too, have wondered if you can put frozen green beans in the air fryer, the answer is a resounding yes!

We buy frozen veggies for so many reasons. Firstly, their nutrition content is right on par with fresh, but they last so much longer.

They are also easy to cook quickly in a pinch, like in the microwave or in the air fryer.

They’re practically done by the time your oven has pre-heated. And when you have hungry kids and busy parents, that’s a huge selling point.

While I didn’t eat green beans frequently growing up, they are so versatile and an easy side for so many things, so now they are a staple.

We’ve paired these with our favorite air fryer tempeh, bison burgers, bacon and corn fritters, salmon or fish meals, and even had them with breakfast for dinner!

Another great pairing option are these easy bison meatballs, served over rice.

AIR FRYER ESSENTIALS – I love to keep some go-to’s on hand for my air fryer recipes. Here’s what I recommend using:

Fast Instant Read Thermometer – You’ll use this more than you know! It works for meat on the grill or stove or oven, too. It’s super fast and the large screen is easy to read.

Reusable Air Fryer Liners – I love these for easy cleaning!

Plate Gripper – This is great for HOT things when they come out of the air fryer. Take care and don’t burn yourself.

Tongs – Tongs can be helpful for transferring seasoned items and then hot items after cooked in the air fryer.

Ingredients For Air Fryer Green Beans

To make these, you’ll need:

  • frozen green beans
  • olive oil
  • everything but the bagel seasoning
  • garlic powder
  • oil spray
  • optional – eggs and flour, if you want to make a breading for green bean fries

I love adding fun spices and flavorings to my air fryer vegetables. Another option are these air fryer parsnips!

I’ve also done olive oil or butter with garlic and paprika

How to Cook Frozen Green Beans in the Air Fryer

Since this recipe for frozen comes together in 15 minutes, the steps are super simple!

Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees. While it heats, mix your ingredients in a bowl.

Since you’ve opted for frozen green beans, you don’t need to worry about washing and trimming them. But if you’re using fresh, see the note below.

Make sure the olive oil is evenly spread over the vegetables, which will ensure they cook more evenly and taste fantastic.

If you’re not sure how long to keep yours in the air fryer, you can always open the drawer and check around the 13 minute mark. If they don’t seem crispy enough, keep them in longer!

These frozen fried green beans are actually much healthier than true frying, thanks to the air fryer.

How Long Do Green Beans Last?

These will be good for up to 3 days in an airtight container stored in the fridge.

If you make more than one batch, they are freezer friendly and will stay good up to 3 months in the freezer!

To reheat from frozen, just toss in the microwave or let them thaw overnight in the fridge.

Recipe Tips and Modifications

  • These air fryer green beans are crispy! If you want them crispier, add another minute. For less crispy, stick to 12-13 minutes. I love using this chart as a guide when cooking vegetables in the air fryer.
  • If you want to make a breading and make air fryer green bean fries, you would cover them in a breading before putting them in the air fryer. I love to make a panko breading with eggs, milk, cheese and spices.
