If you’ve never made pizza on naan bread, this is your chance to try something amazing.

Pesto naan pizza is a fun spring or summer twist!

We love making basil spinach pesto without nuts (I have a tree nut allergy) with basil from the garden, and this naan pizza is the perfect use for it.

It’s so light, refreshing and tasty, and pairs well with so many different flavors.

I’m partial to this chicken pesto naan pizza because it’s like a mini pesto chicken flatbread!

The kids also love it with pepperoni and olives, too. It’s a fun family-favorite for pizza night, along with these air fryer pizza bites.

There are so many reasons to love these mini naan pizzas and rely on them any time of year!

  • Kids can make it themselves – Are you looking for ways to involve your kids more in the kitchen? Having them make their own pizza on naan bread is the perfect way to do so!
  • Can be made in toaster oven, air fryer or oven – We often opt for the toaster oven since that’s the quickest method, and from start to finish, this naan bread pesto pizza is ready in under 10 minutes!
  • Fun way to add more veggies into kids diet – If you follow the recipe for my spinach basil pesto, the kiddos will be getting extra veggies in. Storebought pesto works fine, too.
  • Light and refreshing – This naan pesto pizza recipe isn’t overly heavy and won’t sit in your stomach for hours, but it does have carbs, fat and protein. So, it’s great as a light, quick dinner, or even a fun after school snack or appetizer.

Ingredients

Here’s what you’ll need to make this recipe.

ingredients for naan pesto pizza
  • mini naan bread – I prefer mini naan bread for this recipe (especially when serving to kids), but regular size also works.
  • pesto – If you don’t love pesto, you could use regular tomato sauce or even hummus.
  • red pepper – Any color bell pepper will work to add some nutrition and Vitamin C!
  • cherry tomatoes – I love some diced juicy cherry tomatoes, but any type of diced tomatoes would work, even canned!
  • Parmesan cheese – You could also use mozzarella cheese or any shredded cheese you have on hand.
  • diced chicken – These lemon pepper chicken tenders are so good with the basil pesto!

Optional toppings – We sometimes love to use pepperoni or sausage, artichokes and even olives for toppigs.

FAQ

Can I make these in the air fryer?

Yes, you can make your mini pesto flatbreads in the air fryer, and this is a great way to get them extra crispy. Air fry at 350 degrees Farenheit for 8-10 minutes, or until it reaches your desired level of crispness.

Pairing Suggestions

If your family likes to do snacky meals, or serve a bunch of smaller plates, this pesto naan bread pizza recipe is a great way to do so.

We love pairing with crispy panko cauliflower or any roasted vegetable medley, this low prep brown rice quinoa salad or mango quinoa salad.
