I consider myself a pretty fun mom. I like to do and make things that my kids will enjoy, and this greek yogurt bark recipe is just that.

Plus, as a Registered Dietitian, I’m extra keen on getting nutrients in when I can. Greek yogurt is a fantastic source of protein for kids, plus it offers some probiotics and calcium! The toppings also offer additional fiber and antioxidants, healthy fats and more.

I had my three year old help me with this healthy yogurt bark, and we made three different versions together – all of which were delicious!

My five year old rated them and the chocolate peanut butter won out as her favorite! I love the addition of chia seeds for extra protein, healthy fats, and fiber!

With any healthy snack recipes I create, I’m always focused on addition.

If you have kids around, this can be a great entertaining activity! Kids can mix the honey into the yogurt, spread the yogurt onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet, or disperse the toppings.

You could prep some of this frozen greek yogurt bark while also prepping some greek yogurt popsicles.

Plus, when they play a role, they are more likely to want to eat and enjoy it after.

Why You’ll Love Frozen Yogurt Bark

  • Simple to make – Spread the yogurt over your parchment paper and then add toppings and freeze. Simple steps!
  • Great snack for summer, after school, after practice, easy dessert – Wihle this is great any time of year, I find that frozen yogurt bark really shines in the summer when it’s hot out and kids crave cold snacks more. But, it’s also a delicious after school snack for kids!
  • Fully customizable Use dried fruit, nuts/seeds, fresh fruit, jams, nut butters, etc. as toppings. Get as creative as you’d like! You can also use non-dairy yogurt to account for food preferences or allergies.
  • Nutritious and protein-rich – Getting protein into kids can be challenging sometimes, but when it tastes this good, kids will gravitate towards it.

Just 3 Ingredients For the Base

You’ll need three ingredients for the base of your frozen yogurt bark, and then you can add the toppings as you’d like!

ingredients for greek yogurt frozen bark mixed in mixing bowl

You’ll need plain greek yogurt (full-fat or low-fat), honey or maple syrup, and almond extract (optional). You’ll mix those ingredients for your base and then add your toppings!

Berry Yogurt Bark with Granola – I used diced blueberries, freeze-dried strawberries, and some granola (I used this berry granola) to make a fun granola berry yogurt bark.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Yogurt Bark – Mix in some cocoa powder to your greek yogurt bark base, and then add a drizzle of peanut butter (or your favorite nut butter), some chia seeds and some mini chocolate chips.

Cherry Chocolate Yogurt Bark – This recipe utilizes diced cherries (fresh, dried, or frozen), mini chocolate chips, and chia seeds. I also think crushed pistachios would be delicious!

Hot Recipe Tip

If making Chocolate Peanut Butter Yogurt Bark, make sure to add the cocoa powder to the greek yogurt base first before adding toppings.

Hot Recipe Tip

When adding toppings, cutting the fruit into small pieces works best because it’s easier to spread and won’t weigh down any part of the yogurt bark too much.

Storage and Final Tips

  • Store your yogurt bark in the freezer in a tupperware or freezer bag or stasher bag for up to 3 months.
  • I like to cut the bark with a pizza cutter when it’s ready and frozen! Cut into squares or triangles.
  • After cutting, know that the yogurt bark will melt fast. Plan to eat it right out of the freezer!
  • Layer the greek yogurt into a thicker layer if you want thicker bark. Take into account the toppings you want to add, too! Use a thinner layer for a thinner bark. I like a thinner bark if it’s a snack before dinner!
