Have you seen the Tru fruit freezer bites? We’re obsessed, and those were the inspiration for these frozen yogurt fruit bites as a cool, summer treat.
Utilizing greek yogurt for a frozen snack is a dietitian’s genius hack because as a parent, we’re sneaking in protein, calcium, probiotics, and more. These bites and our frozen greek yogurt bark is another favorite.
These yogurt frozen bites are so colorful and fun – and the kids were just as obsessed with them.

Frozen snacks are a must for these hot summers. These frozen yogurt granola cups came out perfectly, just as I had hoped!

Why the Dietitian Mom Loves this Recipe
“Easy to personalize, full of nutrition, and refreshing on a hot summer day – you’ll love eating these yogurt bites frozen right out of the freezer!”
My Kids Constantly Ask For Frozen Yogurt Bites with Granola!
Here’s why I love them:
- Simple to make – The kids can make them all by themselves at this point. Add chocolate chips, sprinkles, nuts/seeds, etc. They’re great for memorial day, the 4th of July, labor day and any summer party!
- Fun snack that also provides nutrition – Protein, calcium, probiotics, fiber, plus a nice crunch. We love the combo in these greek yogurt granola bites. You can even add it to your kids summer lunches!
- Eat right out of the freezer – No fancy prep or plating needed – Just pop out of the muffin tin and enjoy!
- Easy to personalize – Bananas, peaches, diced berries, nuts/seeds – Pick what you like! My favorite way to add in fiber, magnesium, healthy fats and more.
Gather Your Ingredients
The base is really just Greek yogurt, berries and granola, but you can always modify based on what you have or what you want.
Key notes:
- Berries – fresh or frozen both work!
- Sweetener – I like honey or maple syrup. If I use vanilla greek yogurt, I may omit the sweetener.
- Greek Yogurt – I prefer full-fat for more flavor! You can also use dairy-free to cater to personal dietary preferences.
- Added nutrition – I like to add chia seeds, flax seeds or hemp seeds for extra nutrition.

How to Make Frozen Greek Yogurt Bites
While it can be hard to wait hours for these frozen greek yogurt bites to freeze, they do come together so quickly, otherwise.

Tip For Taking Out of the Freezer
When your frozen yogurt bites are ready, it’s easiest to take a knife to “pop” them out of the frozen mini muffin tin. To do so, just slide it under the granola bottom and gently push up.
