As most kids, my three kiddos love popsicles of all kinds. But, when we buy them from the grocery store, either they’re just fruit (which is great – but not filling), or high in sugar.
There really aren’t many options for popsicles with protein that actually provide a filling snack- which is why I tested and made these greek yogurt popsicles (our kiwi strawberry popsicles with greek yogurt were a hit).
As a Registered Dietitian, I’m a huge fan of greek yogurt in recipes –greek yogurt dressing, muffins, greek yogurt smoothies, etc. It’s a versatile addition that adds protein, calcium and probiotics!

I first made this strawberry banana popsicle recipe with my four year-old. I had her cut the fruit with our kid-friendly knives and add everything to the blender.
It was actually her idea to add the cinnamon (we add cinnamon to everything from oatmeal to yogurt parfaits), and it made such a great difference!
So, round 2 we added some cinnamon and tried adding a little vanilla greek yogurt with the plain. I love how the popsicles have flavor and some sweetness, but not too much – a fun healthy snack for toddlers!
My favorite go-to is the Chobani low-sugar Madagascar vanilla – it only has like 4-5 grams of added sugar total per serving. So, it still keeps these banana strawberry popsicles relatively low in added sugars.
TIP: You can always use plain yogurt to avoid added sugars in your Greek yogurt popsicles – do what works best for your family!

Why You’ll Love Strawberry Banana Popsicles
- Taste great – Banana strawberry popsicles taste like a tropical smoothie in a glass! Smooth, subtly sweet, and creamy, thanks to the greek yogurt.
- High in protein – The problem with many popsicles for kids is that they don’t have any protein to help keep them full or balance the blood sugar rise from the sugar. These greek yogurt popsicles
- Fun to make with kids – If you’re drowning and trying to figure out how to fill that free time with kids, making homemade strawberry banana yogurt popsicles is a great food activity for toddlers and overall a general kid-friendly activity.

Ingredients
Here’s what you’ll need to make these easy 4-ingredient strawberry banana yogurt popsicles.
- strawberries – fresh or frozen both work
- bananas – fresh or frozen. Sometimes blending frozen bananas can make a creamier outcome if you have a high speed blender.
- greek yogurt – I used 1 cup of plain and 1/2 cup of low-sugar vanilla. You can just use plain or a flavored kind.
- cinnamon – optional, but I love the subtle difference it gives.
- high speed blender – I love my mini magic bullet, but any high speed blender will work.
- honey – Honey is optional and I didn’t need it since I used a little bit of vanilla yogurt. If you’re just using plain greek yogurt and feel like you need additional sweetener, you can add some honey.

Other Add-in Ideas
- Adding peanut butter or nut butter adds more protein and fats, a fun flavor!
- You could add a chocolate twist by adding a tablespoon of cocoa powder to the popsicle batter.
- Add fun sprinkles to the top before freezing!
How to Make Greek Yogurt Popsicles
Making these strawberry greek yogurt popsicles with bananas is super easy – just add your 4 ingredients to a high speed blender.
Blend until you get a smoothie-like consistency and add to popsicle molds. I always have a few different options for molds – some kid-friendly shapes always help!

Then, just pour in your popsicle molds and stick in the freezer for 4-6 hours.

Tips for Success
Here are some tips that I recommend for the best outcome:
- You don’t have to cut the strawberries before blending, but I like to for ease. I also generally slice the banana before adding to the blender.
- If using frozen fruit and you need to add more liquid, consider water or your milk of choice!
- Freeze for up to 6 months. I find that they taste better and creamier the sooner you enjoy them!
- It’s fun to have multiple different popsicle molds to freeze into different shapes – these are fun for toddlers and these for older kiddos.
- Sometimes I like to add our favorite dye-free sprinkles on top before freezing – they are such a fun addition!
